Diane is a Los Angeles-based Director, Musical Director, and Theatre Educator who has been working with youth and young adults ages 5 – 25 for more than 30 years. She is the Founder/ Artistic Director of the award-winning Children’s Civic Light Opera Theatre Company (CCLO™), one of the Los Angeles area’s longest established, and most comprehensive theatre programs for young performing artists. She is proud to have many alumni working on Broadway (HAMILTON, PIPPIN, MAMMA MIA, CHICAGO, EVITA, WEST SIDE STORY). Currently, Diane is enjoying her seventh year as Director of Drama, Musical Theatre and Vocal Performance at de Toledo High School in West Hills where she has built an award-winning Theatre Department. In addition to directing, musical directing, teaching a wide variety of theatrical coursework, and creating/facilitating Educational Theatre experiences, Diane is a private Vocal Coach, Acting Coach, and Audition Prep Coach. Career highlights: BEST PRODUCTION win from The Jerry Herman Awards for URINETOWN: The Musical; recipient of GLEE’s $10,000 Give-A-Note Grant for the after-school musical theatre program she co-founded and Directed/Musical Directed at Culver City Middle School; Founder/Creator of Cheviot Hills Drama Camp in Los Angeles and Founder/Creator of Shining Star Musical Theatre at PS87 in Manhattan, NY (both programs remain in operation today); Founder/Creator of Mini-Players, an award-winning Educational Musical Theatre program for grades K – 2 at Westwood Charter Elementary School; presenter at California Educational Theatre Association (CETA) Conferences; Instructor/Director/ Musical Director at Hamilton High School’s Academy of Music; contacted by the Oprah Winfrey Foundation to implement theatrical programing at The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa (position deferred); member, Actor’s Equity Association. Diane believes passionately in the empowering possibilities of theatre, and loves utilizing musical theatre to teach valuable skills and share meaningful lessons that can be applied both on and off of, the stage. She has a Masters in Educational Theatre from NYU.
