ATTIRE
Masks are not mandatory at this time but are encouraged to be worn by students, teachers, and staff. We will follow state, county, & city recommendations and will update our mask policy as required. Discovery Program Classes (2-5 yrs) *Most importantly, we want our youngest dancers to feel comfortable so please use your discretion and use the below as a guideline. • Leotard & tights, dance dress (above the knees), leggings, jazz pants, fitted shorts, tank tops, or fitted t-shirt. • Please avoid baggy clothing & costumes that may cause a distraction. • Attire should be easily removed for bathroom breaks if needed. • Ballet or jazz shoes. Socks or tights alone can be slippery on our floors and we prefer dancers not to be barefoot. • Hair secured in bun or off the face. Ballet Girls: • Leotard (any color) & tights. • Split sole ballet shoes. • Hair secured in bun. Boys: • Black leggings, white t-shirt or tank. • Split sole black ballet shoes. Jazz • Form fitting clothing (i.e. leggings, jazz pants, fitted shorts, leotards, tank tops, crop tops). • No baggy clothes. • Hair out of face. • Jazz shoes or half-soles. Hip Hop • Baggy clothing such as t-shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies, sweatpants, etc. are OK. • No jeans or booty shorts. Jazz Funk • Jazz or street shoes. • Comfortable clothing similar to jazz. • Baggy clothing such as t-shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies, sweatpants, etc. are OK. • No jeans or booty shorts. Contemporary • Form fitted clothing. No baggy clothes. • Half-soles, paws, or bare-feet. Musical Theater • Comfortable form fitted clothing, similar to jazz requirements. • Sneakers you can point your feet and move in, jazz shoes, or character shoes at the discretion of the instructor. Latin Jazz • Comfortable form fitted clothing, similar to jazz requirements. • Jazz shoes until approved by instructor to wear ballroom heels. • Hair may be worn down if you wish. Acro • Form fitted clothing. • No baggy clothes. • Hair pulled back. • Bare-feet. Stretch, Strength, & Conditioning • Form fitted clothing. • No baggy clothes. • Hair pulled back. • Bare-feet. • Bringing your own Yoga Mat is preferred. |

The Floor Dance Academy prides itself on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for dancers of all ages and ability levels. We expect all of our students to respect the space they are dancing in and all of the people they encounter while at the studio whether it be a fellow student, an instructor, or staff member. Our goal is for all students to thoroughly enjoy their time at the studio and create a love for dance that lasts a lifetime! Please review the below expectations and always feel free to express any concerns to our faculty, staff, or studio director. • Students over 10 minutes late will not be allowed in class AND class credit will not be given. • Cell phones are not allowed during class time, including on water breaks. In case of an emergency or personal situation that requires you to use your phone, please let our office staff know. • Only water is permitted in the studio rooms. No food or other drinks. • Food is allowed only in the front lobby and back seating area. • Parents/caregivers are asked to drop off students and allow them to check-in on their own. To avoid congestion in the lobby areas, parents/caregivers, siblings, are asked to wait outside for dancers to be dismissed from class. • Students must respect their instructors & likewise, show respect & support towards other students at the studio. • Excessive talking or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. • The Floor Dance Academy™ reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
