WELCOME TO THE SUNDAY LUNCH DRIVE. Thank you so much for joining us in helping feed our neighbors. Just so you know, the people who organize this venture are part of a group called Hang Out Do Good. (HODG). We are just a bunch of folks living in LA who are trying to make our world better.
LUNCH info: Make 10 lunches...or more! LABEL BAGS with type of Sandwich (*important and allows us to give recipients a choice) BAGS: Drink (no glass), Napkin, Sandwich (pb&j, turkey, ham, salami, etc...), Chips, Fruit, Sweets, Snack Feel free to be generous, it may be the only meal these folks have all day The only thing that should be “made" is the sandwich. Everything else should be store bought, individually wrapped items. Yes, it's bad for the planet, but food safety is our concern here. ADDITIONAL IDEAS: chapstick, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, new hats, new socks. Not required but much appreciated. (but no cash) SPREAD THE WORD! Feel free to invite your friends to join in the Lunch Drive. DROP-OFFlunches: Sunday, November 14thby 10:30am Greenspan/Azar home - 3 minutes from the studio 2002 Pelham Avenue 90025 Or Email Melissa@MelissaGreenspan.com for other Drop Off locations that may be more convenient for you --------------------- WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR LUNCHES? After you drop your lunches off, a bunch of us, load them into our cars and drive them over to the Hollywood Food Coalition, the amazing organization that is acting like a food hub in our city right now. They take all lunches and find a home for every single one.
They reach out to about 30 organizations all across the city -- organizations like PATH, Circle of Friends, Covenant House, The Center at Blessed Sacrament, etc -- and those organizations come pick up the lunches and they distribute them to their clients Sunday afternoon. The important thing to know is that without the Hollywood Food Coalition, this would not be happening. So, if you are looking for an organization to donate to, please consider them. You can donate here: https://hofoco.org/donate/ Again, thanks so much for joining us!
