COLOR CODE

  • Minimum of 2 years previous dance experience

  • Class enrollment is by age and must receive studio approval to enroll in Level 2 & 2A classes

  • There is a ballet class prerequisite to enroll in some Level 2A classes; prerequisites are noted under each class description

  • Dancers usually stay in each age group/level for 2-3 years/seasons before advancing into the next age/level group

  • Dancers at this level typically enroll in a minimum of 2 classes per week and upwards of 4 classes per week

  • Level 2A/3 dancers are eligible to apply for the Pre-Professional Program

  • Dancers will build on the foundations of dance and begin to hone in on the technical and stylistic aspects of dance

  • Dancers will become familiar with learning choreography at a faster pace

BALLET:

  • Girls- Leotard (any color) & tights

    • Split sole ballet shoes​

  • Boys- Black leggings, white t-shirt or tank

    • Split sole black ballet shoes​

  • Hair secured in a bun/out of their face

  • At the discretion of each instructor, warm-ups (sweatpants, sweatshirts, etc.) must be removed when asked

JAZZ:

  • Form fitting clothing (i.e. leggings, jazz pants, fitted shorts, leotards, tank tops, crop tops)

  • No baggy clothes

  • Hair out of their face

  • Tan jazz shoes or half soles

STRETCH & STRENGTH:

  • Same attire as Jazz

  • Barefoot

HIP HOP/JAZZ FUNK:

  • Baggy clothing such as t-shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies, sweatpants, etc. are OK

  • No jeans or booty shorts

  • Clean, non-platform lace up tennis shoes, no slip-ons

TAP:

  • Shoe preference: any Bloch brand tap shoe

  • No jeans or booty shorts

CONTEMPORARY

  • Barefoot or half soles

  • Hair out of their face

  • No jeans or booty shorts
