Dorie Konno
Dorie’s career in the dance industry has spanned many roles. She received her dance training in Canada and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Dorie danced for the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince, and Celine Dion. She then ventured into creating and directing Canada’s top dance convention, Triple Threat Dance Convention. Dorie, along with her sister, Kelly, and best friend, Carolina led Triple Threat for almost 20 years and mentored many of today’s leading dance industry professionals such as Megan Lawson, Devin Jamieson, and Justine Gera. Triple Threat became a staple in the Canadian dance community and Dorie is proud to have been the original owner and director.
Dorie’s career transitioned and led her to becoming a dance agent for Go2Talent Agency. In full circle fashion, she then landed a position in the Entertainment Department at Princess Cruises where she continues to book and coordinate the onboard Enrichment Presenters and Celebrity Speakers. At The Floor, Dorie’s focus role is the manager of studio operations. She loves being in the studio space and watching the students grow and explore their creativity through dance. She wants to thank and acknowledge all of the families who are providing their children the opportunity to include dance in their lives. Dorie would also like to commend, The Floor’s studio owner, Jennifer, for creating a genuinely safe and creative environment for her students and staff to flourish in.
